Prince Vitomir Serbian Vampire

Vitomir  Vitomir is a Slavic name meaning "lord of peace, master of the world" and Pankratiy is a Russian form of the Greek "Pankratios" meaning "all powerful". This is very fitting for his dual nature. He was born a Christian in the 14th Century in the Stara Planina mountains in the Balkans. The Battle of Kosovo had yet to happen and Prince Lazar was still living. Vitomir was a young man in 1389 when the Serbian kingdom collapsed and the Ottoman Empire swallowed his place of birth. At age 17 he headed west towards the Nišava Valley, a popular trade route. He saw horrible atrocities that made him question his faith, and so his name is especially fitting as he was divided between his faith in the religion he was raised with, his spirituality, and his more worldly side. He was on his own and the world offered temptations to a striking young man. He made his way to the Adriatic Sea and crossed to Italy where he landed in Pescara. Once there he had to struggle to survive at first but his natural intelligence landed him a job as assistant to a doctor. Medicine then was not what it is today and he performed some very gruesome tasks in the name of treating patients. He felt he was helping the people and fulfilling his purpose in life. However, fate had other things in store for him. One morning he woke up with strange memories of the night before. A strange man with his face in the shadows had come to his window seeking entrance, and in his half-asleep state of mind he had allowed him inside. He awoke in a state of fear unable to determine if it had really been a dream. By mid-day he'd mostly forgotten it, but that night as he prepared for bed he thought of it again. He had a strange feeling of excitement, a mixture of fear and curiosity. He found himself hoping it wasn't a dream! Still, he was very tired (having not slept much the night before) and soon was in a state of slumber. When the man returned that night Vitomir was in a state of hypnosis yet fully aware of his actions as he opened the window and allowed his secret visitor access once again. He was, as you have guessed, being visited by a vampire drawn to his inner conflicts. Vitomir's energy was like a drug to this being, and Vitomir somehow received the same ecstasy in giving his blood and his body to this vampire, as the vampire felt in taking it. This was a regular occurrence for nine days. The old doctor who employed Vitomir knew he had fallen ill but he didn't know exactly what the problem was, until it was too late. The vampire had begun to allow Vitimir to feed on him as well, and it was with this action that Vitomir gave up his mortal being, along with a good deal of his religious faith. He became a vampire and left with his nocturnal companion leaving an empty and cold bed to be discovered in the morning. Vitomir had gone into the underground of the vampire society, and as he was made by a powerful vampire, a leader among this unlikely community, he was dubbed "the Prince." It was a title he would hold and fight for for almost 400 years. It was sometime in the early 1800's that Vitomir met his match. Several jealous vampires conspired to end him and information about his whereabouts during the day was made known to a vampire hunter. Vitomir escaped but he had to flee at the last minute and he had no safe place to flee to. He remained desperate and on the run for the next few days, but he was able to find an old ally. This vampire would not hide him but they did tell him of an ancient rite whereby a vampire or any being can leave their body and remain living on another plane of existence. Vitomir undertook this ritual with the help of the vampire, who then left his body where it would be found by those chasing him. His body was desecrated and destroyed but it was too late. He had escaped. Vitomir is a dual-natured vampire. He truly wishes to help others but he has a side that is selfish and sometimes cruel. He enjoys physical pleasures so he wants to be with a human companion, but he also enjoys the release provided by certain types of pain. He doesn't wish to harm anyone but he does enjoy feeling all kinds of emotions. you might say he has fetishes and he wants to share them, and learn about what his companion enjoys as well.
